A LOCAL IRISH BEER PODCAST

The Independent Craft Brewers of Ireland (ICBI), supported by Bord Bia, brings you a new limited edition podcast series: ‘Craft Community, the local Irish beer podcast’. Hosted by Susan Boyle and featuring a host of Irish Breweries telling their stories and talking all things beer; the series aims to raise awareness of the world of Irish craft brewing and to encourage people in Ireland to find out more about the diverse range of local craft beers we have.

The first episode aired on Wednesday 2nd November and is available on all major podcast streaming apps. Just Search Craft Community, a local Irish beer podcast’

CRAFT COMMUNITY EPISODES

Over six episodes, host Susan Boyle will be joined by some of Ireland’s leading craft breweries on themes from sustainability and provenance to building a brand to styles and food matches as well as a spotlight on roots in the community. The weekly episodes will highlight the diverse community of crafters and entrepreneurs behind some of the most popular Irish craft brews.

Episode 1, The business of beer explores business development, enticing new consumers to try craft, and the changing drinking habits in Ireland.
With Tom Cronin, Rye River Brewing Company, Seamus O’Hara, Carlow Brewing, Áine O’Hora, Connemara Brewing and Liam Tutty, Dead Centre Brewing

Episode 2, Community roots explores how a sense of place and the story behind the business influences a brewery, and its craft beers.
with Seamus McMahon, Brehon Brewhouse, Adrienne Heslin, West Kerry Brewery and Aileen Crean and Bill Shepperd, Tom Crean Brewery

Episode 3, Crafting a strong brand is a wide-ranging episode capturing in particular the importance of all aspects of building a unique, authentic brand.
With Joe Donnelly, Rascals Brewing, Peter Mosely, Porterhouse Brewing Company and Vivienne Lucey, Lineman

Episode 4, The art of craft beer looks at the creative inspiration behind the beers and discusses what differentiates "craft beer" from mainstream.
With Richard Siberry, Black Donkey Brewing, Barbara-Anne McCabe, Bridewell Brewery and Maurice Deasy, Canvas Brewing.

Episode 5, Food pairings & beer styles looks at types of beer and the art of pairing food & craft beer to suit every palette.
With Dungarvan Brewery, Peter Curtin and Birgitta Hedin Curtin, The Roadside Tavern and Cuilan Loughnane, Whitefield Brewery

Episode 6, Sustainable brewing: features three breweries with different sustainable business practices in place; from both a social and environmental perspective.
